How to Silence Calls on iPhone
October 8, 2022There are a variety of settings and operations that can help you silence calls on your iPhone. You can turn off auto-answer, turn the ringer volume up, and disable call audio routing. These tips can help you get rid of the annoying ringers and unknown callers on your iPhone.
Unsilence unknown callers on iPhone
Using iPhone’s Silence Unknown Callers feature can keep you safe from telemarketing and other annoyances. The feature sends calls from unknown callers to voicemail and displays them in the recent calls list. However, the feature isn’t enabled by default. You should enable it if you don’t want to miss important calls.
Firstly, go to the Control Centre of your iPhone and look for the Do Not Disturb option. If you don’t see this option, make sure that it is not on a schedule. Secondly, open the Settings app on your iPhone and make sure that the Scheduled option is turned off.
If the ringer is still active, go to the Settings app and open the Bluetooth settings. If you don’t see the toggle, go to the ‘Silence Unknown Callers’ tab. Once you’ve clicked the toggle, you can choose whether to ignore the caller or turn it off. If this isn’t enough, you can also manually switch it off in the Control Center. However, you should keep in mind that this action will only affect the DND feature and not the Bedtime alarm.
In addition to the Do Not Disturb feature, you can also disable the iPhone’s ringer to silence unknown callers. By enabling this mode, you will silence unknown callers whenever your iPhone is locked or a sleep mode. You can access the Control Center from the bottom or upper right corners of the screen and tap on the DND button. The DND icon looks like a crescent moon.
Disable Call Audio Routing
Using Bluetooth headphones with your iPhone can make it difficult to hear your partner. To solve this problem, you can enable or disable call audio routing on your iPhone. By enabling it, you can have calls sent to your Bluetooth headphones, rather than to your iPhone’s internal speakers. It can also be turned off automatically.
Disabling call audio routing on your iPhone is easy. The iPhone has three different modes for audio reception. The default mode, Auto, routes calls to your headset or speakerphone. You can also configure your Bluetooth headset to receive calls through the speakerphone. To use Bluetooth, simply connect the Bluetooth device to your iPhone.
To disable call audio routing on your iPhone, navigate to the settings menu and select the accessibility option. This option is located under the interaction section. You should be able to see the call audio routing option under the automatic option. You will need to choose the one that is most useful to you.
When using Bluetooth, you can also configure your iPhone to automatically route your calls to a headset. This gives you more privacy. Bluetooth headphones, speakers, or earbuds are all good options for this. However, if you do not have one of them, you can connect an Xbox controller and make the audio play through it.
Disabling Auto-Answering is another option. By disabling it, you can still answer incoming calls without touching your iPhone. However, you will need to make sure that you have sufficient time before auto-answering occurs.
Increase ringer volume
There are two ways to increase the volume of the ringer. You can either use the volume buttons on your iPhone or the volume slider. If you have the volume slider on your iPhone, you can adjust the volume of the ringer independently of the media volume. If you want to silence calls, you can adjust the volume of the media volume separately as well.
You can also mute individual calls. By hitting the volume button on an individual call, you will mute the call but the other incoming calls will continue to ring. Alternatively, you can press the side mute button to silence all incoming calls. This method can be helpful in situations when you do not want to answer a call while other sounds are still playing.
If none of these options works, you may need to reset your iPhone. To do this, press and hold the “Power” and “Volume Down” buttons simultaneously for about 5 seconds. Once the phone has rebooted, you can try again to check if the ringer volume works. If you still cannot silence calls, you may want to contact Apple support.
Increasing the ringer volume on your iPhone can be done via the Settings app. The Ringer and Alerts slider is located in the Sounds and Haptics category of Settings. To make this slider changeable using the side buttons, you must enable the “Change With Buttons” toggle.
If you don’t have a Face ID enabled iPhone, you can turn off the Attention Aware feature, which lowers the volume while you’re looking at the device. Toggling this feature requires your iPhone passcode, which you can find under Accessibility.
Turn off auto-answer
You can turn off auto-answer on iPhone in your iPhone settings. It is a feature that allows your iPhone to automatically answer calls based on the number that you selected. To turn this feature off, go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Call Audio Routing. Then tap the green button next to Auto-Answer to turn it off.
Auto-answer is a convenient feature that allows you to answer incoming calls without having to press the answer button. It is useful for people who use headsets or cannot always pick up the phone. For instance, auto-answering is helpful if you are cooking or eating and you don’t want to miss an important call. But if you find this feature distracting, you can turn off auto-answer on iPhone.
You can turn off auto-answer on iPhone by going to Settings>General>Call Audio Routing>Auto-Answer Calls. Toggle the switch to turn it off. You can also turn off auto-answer on iPhone if you’re not using it.
The feature is available on all iPhone models and is available in iOS versions 11 and later. It can automatically answer cellular calls, FaceTime calls, and WhatsApp calls. However, you can turn off auto-answer for specific apps. Using this feature is helpful for people who tend to take a long time to reply to calls. However, you shouldn’t use this feature if you’re on the go!
Turn off Bedtime Status
If you have an iPhone and you’d like to turn off Bedtime on your device, you can do it through the Settings app. You can toggle the switch for Bedtime on or off, and even choose the days when it’s active. You can also turn off Bedtime on the Alarm screen, if you prefer. For example, you may not want the Bedtime section at the top of your Alarm pane, which takes up valuable space and makes fixed alarms less visible.
The same process can be applied to Do Not Disturb. By turning off Bedtime Mode, your iPhone will block any notifications that you may receive during downtime, and it will prevent any flashing or pinging. However, you can still use your iPhone for other purposes, such as checking your voicemail or Messages. Alternatively, you can turn off Bedtime Mode from the Clock app. This way, your iPhone will prevent you from waking up in the middle of the night and will only keep you awake for as long as you’re sleeping.
The bedtime feature is a great addition to the iOS 13 software. It helps you keep track of your sleep patterns and health. However, some people may not need this feature, and they might want to turn it off when they don’t need it. To turn off Bedtime status on iPhone, go to Health > Sleep > Your Schedule. There, you’ll find the toggle for “Sleep Schedule” (switch it to off) to turn off the alarms and wake-up reminders.
Another way to turn off Bedtime mode on iPhone is to disable the “Sleep Focus” feature. Turning off this feature will enable you to set your own sleep schedule in the Health app. If you have a schedule, it’s important to set it for the same time every day. Otherwise, your iPhone will automatically mark you as unavailable and stop sending notifications.
